Biography
Ajit Dhillon is a lawyer in our business law group whose work focusses on infrastructure projects, as well as private mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and general commercial matters.
While Ajit’s infrastructure practice focusses on the commercial elements of infrastructure projects, he also regularly advises on other aspects of infrastructure projects, including project planning, procurement, design and construction, operation, and maintenance. Ajit has worked on a wide range of infrastructure project delivery models, including public-private partnerships, in various sectors, including transportation, healthcare, commercial, and industrial projects.
In his M&A and corporate work, Ajit advises clients on acquisitions and divestitures of assets, and on drafting and negotiating all types of internal and external commercial contracts. Ajit’s M&A practice also includes infrastructure M&As, which involve the purchase and sale of interests in large infrastructure projects.

Infrastructure Projects
- Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project – counsel to the Province of British Columbia on all aspects of procurement and construction of this $3.12 billion extension of the existing SkyTrain system to Langley, British Columbia, which will include elevated guideways, eight stations, three bus exchanges, park-and-ride spaces, 55 SkyTrain vehicles, and an operations and maintenance centre
- Broadway Subway Project – counsel to the Province of British Columbia on all aspects of procurement and construction of a $2.83 billion extension of the existing SkyTrain system in Vancouver, which will include elevated guideways, bored tunnels and six underground stations in a busy urban corridor
- Capital Regional District Core Area Wastewater Treatment Program – counsel to the Capital Regional District on a multi-facility project including a residuals treatment facility (design-build-finance-operate), multiple pump stations (design-build) and conveyance pipelines (design‐bid‐build), and an attenuation tank, all near Victoria, British Columbia.
M&A
- CRCHUM – counsel to QIC in connection with the sale of its managed funds' interests in the Montreal University Hospital Research Centre (also known as CRCHUM) P3 and a Long Beach Court House P3 in California.
- Vancouver Island Ferry Company – counsel to Infrared Capital Partners on its acquisition of a majority interest in a Vancouver Island Ferry Company, a high-speed foot-passenger ferry.
- Watty Vos Boulevard P3 – counsel to Infrared Capital Partners on the sale of its interest in the Watty Vos Boulevard project (WVB Project), an availability-based road concession in Aruba.
- Iqaluit Airport – counsel to InfraRed Capital Partners on the sale of its majority interest in the Iqaluit Airport P3 in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
