Biography

Jason Noakes is an employment and labour and work health and safety lawyer with more than 20 years of experience. He is also the Employment and Labour team Australia leader. Jason is based in Sydney.

Jason has a wealth of experience representing and assisting private and public sector organisations with respect to their employment and labour and WHS law requirements.

He assists employers with all of their employment and labour issues, including workplace investigations, performance / conduct management, separations, restructuring, strategic industrial relations planning and effective and progressive workforce management approaches.

Jason is a leading employment and labour litigator. He has significant experience representing clients before the courts, commissions and administrative tribunals with jurisdiction in matters of employment and labour law, human rights and anti-discrimination and occupational health and safety.  Jason is recognised for his successful and cost effective conduct of large scale litigation and for his dispute resolution acumen and success.

Jason is retained by firms and individuals for partner, executive and team moves. Jason's insight into the legal, strategic and practical management of transition issues, including restrictive covenants, is brought to bear for the benefit of his clients.

Jason is experienced in the management of safety incidents involving serious injury and death, including liaising with regulators, interviewing witnesses, the preparation of expert reports and dealings with co-defendant representatives. Industry experience includes utilities, infrastructure, construction and mining. With respect to WHS prosecution experience, Jason acts for both regulators and defendants.
