Norton Rose Fulbright Calgary office named one of Alberta’s Top 2024 Employers

Kanada Press release - Firm Januar 2024

Norton Rose Fulbright’s Calgary office has been named one of the best places to work in Alberta. The global law firm is proudly listed among Alberta’s Top Employers, leading the way in offering employees progressive workplace programs and policies. Winning employers were announced in a special magazine published in the Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal and online at Eluta.ca.

Our Calgary office was compared to other organizations in the legal field to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs, and the office was evaluated on eight criteria, from physical workplace, to work atmosphere, as well as programs instituted to foster job satisfaction, success and overall health. The Calgary office stands out, in part because well-being and inclusion are cornerstones of the culture, including through the annual work to support mental health and various diversity-related events.

Elizabeth Williams, Managing Partner of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Calgary office, said:

“Our Calgary culture is supported by many programs and policies designed to make our firm an employer of choice, but also talented people who are energized, engaged and ambitious, bringing that energy to our clients who trust us with their work. Further to our commitment to our exceptional client service, I am incredibly proud of our continued participation in the community. Every year our Calgary team is generous with volunteer hours and pro-bono support, in addition to giving over $160,000 to local charities and non-profits.”

Our firm offers competitive compensation as well as a full suite of benefits, including group insurance, a health spending account, a retirement plan and a fitness and home office reimbursement.

As an example of the firm’s commitment to well-being, the firm recently increased its benefits coverage for mental health services to $3,000 a year. It provides an employee assistance program and has an employee resource group focused on mental health. In addition, the Canadian firm recently rolled out a new parental leave policy, which provides 26 weeks of salary top-up to mothers, fathers, adoptive and non-birth-giving parents.

Now in its 18th year, Alberta’s Top Employers is an editorial competition run by Mediacorp Canada Inc., publisher of employment-related periodicals.

Norton Rose Fulbright has offices in six cities in Canada, including Calgary, where the office has grown to more than 250 lawyers and staff.
