Keeping your dawn raid guidance current
Unannounced inspections or ‘dawn raids’ are used by antitrust authorities to obtain evidence when there are suspicions that individuals or businesses have infringed the antitrust rules.
While commonly perceived to be the perpetrators of crimes, corporations, organizations and governmental entities are often themselves victims of criminal acts performed by third-parties or their own employees and agents. The Mandatory Victim Restitution Act (MVRA) creates a statutory obligation for courts to order criminal restitution to victims for certain offenses committed against organizational entities.
