Set to take effect from June 2021, the Investment Firms Regulation (IFR) and Investment Firms Directive (IFD) will make significant alterations to the prudential framework governing investment firms, resulting in higher regulatory capital requirements, new remuneration rules, and increased internal governance, disclosure and reporting requirements.
Our IFR/IFD transition hub helps financial services clients navigate the legal and regulatory implications of the new prudential regime. The hub includes our latest views and analysis on regulatory issues, as well as access to our legislation tracker and legislation mapping tools.
The IFR/IFD transition hub can be found on the NRF Institute here.

Consequently, they are fast becoming pivotal components in the capital ecosystem, so much so that the Bank of England consider that the private credit market is currently responsible for approximately $1.8 trillion of debt issuance, which is four times its size in 2015. This growth has been particularly pronounced in Europe and the US but there has also been significant activity in Asia.
