Biography

Mary-Frances Murphy is pro bono lawyer based in Sydney. Mary-Frances brings valuable experience, advising on both domestic and international pro bono projects related to environmental and climate change risks, financial abuse, refugee law and innovation for access to justice.  Mary-Frances collaborates with major financial institutions and corporate clients on pro bono matters. She has particular interests in human rights, environment and climate change, and access to justice.

Prior to joining the pro bono team, Mary-Frances has more than 15 years' experience in banking and finance law, advising on a range of institutional and corporate financings both domestic and cross-border. In particular advising in respect of green and sustainable finance, project finance, construction/development financings, as well as property, asset and acquisition financings. 

Mary-Frances has undertaken secondments to three of the Big 4 Australian Banks - working in institutional banking and insolvency/restructuring and has been recognised by Best Lawyers for her high calibre work in banking and finance law.
