Biography
Alvin Wong is a banking and finance lawyer based in Hong Kong.
Alvin has extensive experience in advising financial institutions as well as corporate borrowers on domestic and cross-border bilateral and syndicated debt financing transactions including acquisition financing, leveraged financing, real estate financing, pre-IPO financing, margin financing, intercreditor arrangements and debt restructuring.
Alvin was seconded to Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited in 2015, where he gained valuable experience working within their in-house legal team.

Advised:
- Various offshore lenders and borrowers - on financing, refinancing and related amendments to PRC onshore/offshore real estate facilities in respect of residential, commercial, warehouse facilities and data centre facilities, with projects situated in various cities in the PRC, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Shenyang and Jiangmun.
- Offshore lenders - on various cross-border RMB facilities to PRC domestic enterprises (including PRC subsidiaries of SOEs, PRC financial leasing companies and Qianhai incorporated enterprises).
- Facility agents and borrowers - in respect of offshore syndicated facilities to PRC real estate developers listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with intercreditor arrangement put in place for sharing of common collaterals with bondholders.
- Facility agent - in relation to MOP3.3bn and HK$1.649bn term and revolving syndicated loan facilities to finance the construction and operation of Lisboeta Macau project.
- The consortium comprising of Fung private group and Hony Capital - in relation to US$550m senior syndicated facility and US$300m mezzanine facility towards financing the acquisition of three product verticals from Li & Fung Limited.
- A leading China distressed asset management company as sponsor - on the financing aspects of the acquisition of a hotel property in Tsimshatsui valued at HK$6bn.
- The founder of WuXi PharmaTech (药明康德新药开发公司) - on US$300m management credit facilities from Ping An Bank Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd. for financing the privatisation of WuXi PharmaTech from the New York Stock Exchange.
- A PRC investment bank as facility agent and security agent - in respect of HK$1.8bn syndicated facility for the pre-IPO restructuring of a PRC chemical company.
- Facility agent - in relation to consent and amendment exercise to existing club facility to Jinmao (China) Hotel Investments and Management Limited in connection with privatisation of Jinmao Hotel (a business trust) and Jinmao (China) Hotel Investments and Management Limited.
- A lender - in relation to a US$107m bank guarantee facility to a Hong Kong insurer for guaranteeing contingent liabilities under certain life insurance policies.
