You’ll have an enquiring mind, strong interpersonal skills, and the motivation to make constant progress. You’ll never stop pushing yourself forward, grasping every opportunity – both at home and abroad – that our firm has to offer. You’ll be interested in business too, and keen to build relationships within a firm that’ll help you make progress with purpose.

How many business trainees will you take?

Up to 4 roles are available starting in September 2024.

How many business trainees will be offered a permanent role?

When we take on a business and legal operations trainee we are making an investment. We expect to retain a high proportion, but the number we retain will be based on the number who reach an objective standard and business need, not a quota. You will be given a lot of support to reach this standard, and regularly appraised and given feedback throughout the scheme to help you reach your potential.

Where will I be based?

All rotations will be based in our London office.

Does this scheme lead to a legal qualification?

The role involves legal technology.  Do I need to have a background in computer science or particular technology related qualifications?

How do I complete the application form if I did not study in the UK?

Please input your grades into the application form as they were awarded to you at school and/or university. You do not need to convert them into the UK equivalent, but please do include as much detail as possible.

Yes. We encourage you to include relevant details on your application form or, if you prefer, send a confidential email.

I need a work permit – will that be a problem?

Offers are subject to you being able to work in the UK. Please speak to us about this should you be offered a position at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Diversity & inclusion

I have a disability and require the application form in an alternative format. Can you provide this?

Yes, we will provide the application form in alternative formats. Please get in touch with details of the alternative format required.

Please let us know as soon as you can about the format you require.

What should I do if I require reasonable adjustments for the recruitment process because of a disability?

We will work with you to ensure any reasonable adjustment requirements are implemented correctly. Please contact us to discuss the adjustment(s) you require.

I am worried that if I disclose my disability this will be perceived negatively. I have had a bad experience in the past and feel it is ‘safer’ not to disclose my disability.

We take a positive approach to employing disabled people and are an accredited Disability Confident Employer. We also operate the Guaranteed Interview Scheme if you meet our minimum criteria. Please note that we take a range of competencies, achievements and skills into account when making decisions on candidates and do not rely solely on academic results.
