Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP Statement on Middle East Conflict

Canada News October 13, 2023

On Monday, October 9, in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Israel, we sent the following message to the members of our Canadian firm:

Saturday brought terrible news of a Hamas attack on Israel and the targeting of civilians, many of them children, women and elderly. These were deplorable acts of violence against innocent people going about their daily lives.

We know this is a distressing time for many colleagues personally and encourage you to consult EAP if you need support.

The firm will be making a donation to Canadian Magen David Adom and we encourage firm members who wish to do so too, to leverage the firm’s matching funds program through Impact.

We hope for the safe return of the hostages, for comfort to grieving families and friends of all those killed and injured in this attack – as well as its repercussions – and for the dream of peace for people in the Middle East.

Let’s make sure we support each other in this time.

We are committed to supporting our people including, in particular, in times of need. These are such times.

Let’s show our support by comforting those impacted by the tragic loss of civilian life and the mounting humanitarian crisis in Gaza.  We must condemn antisemitism and racism however it manifests itself.
